Bad idea to have RD night before wedding?

Is it a bad idea to have the RD on Friday night and the wedding is Saturday at 3? Will I be tired? My parents are coming from NJ to stay so it would be convienient for them Friday night so they dont have to come an extra day early.

I was in a wedding that had the ceremony at three and we did the the RHD the night before. I didn't have a problem with it. Just make sure that you go right home and get some sleep.

My RD is this coming Wednesday, the rehearsal itself is Thursday, and the wedding is Friday. I think it'll be okay...

IMO you want to be rested the day before. You have so much to do. I got married on Friday, so I had my RD on Wednesday. Thursday I spent the day getting a massage, getting my nails and feet done and just gathering all the last minute details together.

Doing it the night before is fine. I did mine two nights before because my friends are booze hounds...but if you don't have that problem, you should be OK. What time of day are you getting married?

My RD is the night before too. I tried to get it for 2 nights before but the church couldn't do it. I am not worrying though. I plan on having it at my brother's house so that it won't be so formal and we can kinda come and go as needed. I'm not sure I'll get too much rest the night before the wedding anyway so at least this will occupy my mind for a little while! Good luck.

For a three o'clock wedding, it shouldn't be bad. If you had an early morning wedding, then I would say it would be tough. Are you taking off on Friday to do stuff? You need a day to relax and regroup. Maybe take Thursday and Friday off so you can relax and get pampered with manicure/pedicure/massage type stuff

I chose to do it 2 nights before and I am glad I did. The night before for me would have been too much. Also the day before I got my nails & feet done etc.

I have no choice but to have the rehearsal dinner the night before. About 90% of our bridal party is from out of town and won't be around until the day before. I have an early wedding, so it'll be a late night and I'll probably be exhuasted, but I doubt I'll get much sleep the night before, anyway.

I'm doing mine the night before - just try to end it with enough time that you can get a good night sleep (if that is possible)

I did my RD the night before with a noon ceremony. It is the most considerate time for your guests, and on your wedding day there is no chance you'll feel tired based on adrenaline alone. hehe. Personally, I was happy to be surrounded by friends and family the night before -- I think I would have been more stressed without the celebration that night...

Ok, I feel better as long as alot of you are doing it the night before also. Thanks for the input. I probably wont sleep early anyway cause I'll be excited.

My bridal party asked me to have mine on the Thursday (my wedding is Saturday 11/1), Friday is Halloween and they have to go trick or treating with the kids...I actually didn't have a choice, my church really only does them on Thursdays.

We are doing it the nite before also, and it's a three o'clock wedding. It's much easier on the out of towners, which there are a lot of. I really don't think it's going to be a problem. I don't have to be up until like 9 the next day so I am not worried.

Our RD was the night before and we had to be at the reception hall at 9:30 the next morning for pictures. It worked out fine. Our RD was from 6-9 pm, so it wasn't a late night.

We had our RD the night before the wedding. Our wedding was also at 3:00pm on a Saturday night. Everything worked out great! It didn't matter if I was tired anyway... I couldn't sleep the night before!
