DH and his job gets me mad...sorry needed to vent.
My husband has been having tooth pains for the past week and yesterday night was the worst. He would not go to the dentist because he is completely afraid of them. Now he decided he needed to go because he feels that he will pass out from the pain. I tell him fine then go, you need to get this done especially if we are planning on going on vacation in a few weeks, I don’t think I can stand my broken foot and his tooth pains together. He was suppose to go to work today to check on the store, then go to the dentist and then take me to the city to get my cast. Now he is telling me that he can’t take me because his boss (the owner) needs to leave at 1pm. I am sooooo mad because his boss has been taking off everyday. His wife just had a new baby yeah I understand she needs help but she is one of those that needs somebody to take care of her and somebody else to take care of the baby.
I don’t know if I should be mad at DH because I know he is the manager but he never takes off and just this once he couldn’t tell his boss that he can’t today because I need to take my wife to get a cast, I think that’s important. Why can’t the other boss come in instead? I hate the fact that he feels so responsible for the store when he is not even a partner or anything.
His problem is also that he doesn’t think that my foot problem is serious at all. He doesn’t believe in doctors at all so even if it’s a close friend telling me this he feels that they are all lies and exaggerated. Now my best friend’s father is going to call DH this afternoon to talk to him about my foot so he can believe it.

Just try to make him understand - and I know how hard that is going to be!

I'm sorry. He is probably very unhappy also because he is in pain and wants to go to the dentist.Maybe he can get an appt tonight. Do you have someone else that can go with you to the city to get your cast? Don't take it out on him.Unfortunately many times our bosses don't care what we need to do,they always think work comes first.

Re: DH and his job gets me mad...sorry needed to vent.
I'm sorry you're having a rough week!
Your DH is going to have to learn to defer to the experts and get medical treatment when necessary!!!
My grandfather was that way - didn't trust/believe in doctors and his health and my grandmother's health suffered because of it. After he died, my dad brought my grandmother to a doctor after who-knows-how-long, and there was nothing that could be done for her illness. I know your situation isn't life threatening like that, but certain medical problems should not be ignored because that will only make things worse (your foot, his tooth)!

Re: DH and his job gets me mad...sorry needed to vent.
Rebecca, he is not that bad though. My mother died of cancer and he always pushes me to go to the gyno all the time. Always askes if I went, how did the test results come out he helps me follow up on many things when it comes to serious things like that. When I hurt my ankle he ran right away and said lets take you to the hospital. He also wanted to get me ice but I said no that I didn't need anything. So he says if I didn't want anything at that time then it can't be that bad. The the next day when it was a big deal he found it a little hard to believe.
At this time he is at the dentist taking care of himself.

No not today. Either tomorrow or Thursday night. Can't surpass Thursday night.

I hate when employers give us a hard time at times like this. Hope you are both feeling better.

Good, I'm glad to hear it!! As long as its not extreme. When I hear things like that, I get a little nervous (with good reason
). Hope you feel better soon.
