WEIGHT QUESTION (I know I should post on slim down, but want all opinions)

I have been working out steadily 5x a week for AT LEAST and hour per session, sometimes 2.....

Although I have gone down 2 dress sizes, the scale says I have only lost 4 lbs.....

I am frustrated and I KNOW IT'S B/C MUSCLE WEIGHS MORE THAN FAT.......but it's a psychological thing....ya know?

I want to see the lbs. coming off......can I switch up my workout? change the diet?
What can I do to drop a few more actual lbs.?????/

First of all, you should be VERY proud of yourself for going down two dress sizes - that's a huge accomplishement (no pun intended ).

However, if you want to drop actual pounds there are three things that work for me:

cardio, cardio, cardio!!

Also, cut out the carbs and drink tons of water.

Re: WEIGHT QUESTION (I know I should post on slim down, but want all opinions)

Thank you Jenny!!!!

I am back into my size 4's which I haven't seen in quite some time, and I do feel great - but when I get on the scale I get discouraged.....

I will have to step up my cardio....I do drink tons of water, but the carbs thing is a killer....

I don't over-do it, I RARELY EVER eat pasta, no white bread, rolls or bagels....
But I love fruit and eat probably 2 pieces of whole wheat bread a day....(sometimes 3)

Weight is just a number sweetie. Don't fret.
All that should matter is how you look and how you feel. What you weigh is meaningless. You're doing great with your workouts! Don't make yourself crazy....

OMG Congratulations!!! If you drop weight at this point, you'd be dropping muscle -- which would mean that the number of calories you burn a day while resting would go down, and you'd probably look less toned. I think I'd stop checking the scale and start checking out the mirror, you must look HOT!

Re: WEIGHT QUESTION (I know I should post on slim down, but want all opinions)

if you last 2 dress sizes that is wonderful!!! Start measuring yourself with a tape measure instead of a scale and you will see results that way.

Thats what I did when I was on weight watchers 3 years ago....

Wow! I wish I was NEAR a single digit size! I'd have to literally cut myself up to be that size

Wow - Sage - 2 dress sizes is A LOT!!

I say throw the scale away.

Ok, not that I take this advice myself, but my sister who is a successful dieter/worker-outer would say to cut calories in addition to your work-outs. Eat more fiber and less fat/less carbs.

Congrats on your success!!

Re: WEIGHT QUESTION (I know I should post on slim down, but want all opinions)

personally, I never weigh myself.... I measure myself. I actually have a chart and I consistently take my measurements and track the changes..... otherwise you will go out of your mind, especially in the begining b/c of the fat/muscle weight difference.

Meanwhile..... Congrats! 2 dress sizes is a big deal.... don't stress about it & keep up the good work!

BTW... if you feel like you are gaining too much mass. do more reps of less weight... you will stay toned but will cease bulking up.
