One day I lean strongly towards #3...the next day I lean strongly towards Greece. Decisions, decisions.

Re: Honeymoon Hot Spots

Colleen, Greece is WONDERFUL! I went island hopping with my 6 of my gf's to end off our summer in Europe after college. I recommend EVERYONE go!

I am going to Bora Bora for our honeymoon though, heard wonderful things about that too.

Decisions decision.....

Re: Honeymoon Hot Spots

Kim...FH was pushing Italy for forever but (while I want to go one day) I said NO! Just about everyone in his family went there for their HM and those that didn't, went to Hawaii - so that one's out too! LOL

I've wanted to go to Greece for quite some time now...we were both really into it then we thought we'd just want to relax and not sitesee on our HM - and really, how can you go to Greece and NOT see Athens, the Parthenon, etc??!?! But after chatting with some people here, I hear you can do the siteseeing part in a day or 2...and we plan on taking 10-14 days for the HM, so I've now tied Greece & Bora Bora as the top destination spots. I'm mildly obsessed, I know.

Re: Honeymoon Hot Spots

Ok, I think you can do Athens in a day. JMO. We started in Athens (1 day) left for Myconos the 2nd day, Santorini, Crete, and one other I can't remember and ended in Athens to fly 13 hours home Really wasn't that bad though.

It was wonderful! They have cruises that do the islands too you may want to look into if you want more of a relaxed honeymoon and if you aren't too fond of puddle jumpers because that is how we went island to island.

I feel the same way about Hawaii, I have been when I was younger and so has FH. We figure maybe we will go there for our 1 year anniversary. We didn't want to do as a honeymoon only because we have been and it it a huge honeymoon spot.

Edited because I remember the 4th island was Corfu. Had a brain freeze for a minute!

Re: Honeymoon Hot Spots

I think I can handle 13 hours...I know FH can, he's flown to HI, Japan & Taiwan. The farthest I flew was to Munich and going & coming were H E L L flights. Nothing like spending 8 hours in Dulles airport only to finally fly in the storm anyway. Ugh.

I'm not into cruises - and I'm not sure we'd want to go crazy with a bunch of islands...I definetly want to check out both sides of the islands though.

Great. Now I'm back on the Greece kick.

Re: Honeymoon Hot Spots

haha - No, don't apologize - no confusion. I think they're both equally BEAUTIFUL places and would be happy with going to either one of them.

Or Fiji or the Galapagos Islands. See, decisions, decisions.

Re: Honeymoon Hot Spots

Exactly! And for me, it's only Bora Bora - I'm not interested in any of the other French Polynesian islands of Tahiti.
