how is my HM trip so different in cost from 2 travel agents?
one is quoting me almost $2000 more than the other!!

For costa rica: Easy... A good chunck of the difference is due to airfare and local transportation rates.
Make sure that the hotel rates you're being charged are no more than the posted rates on the websites, after you add the 16% tax.
Van transfers are pretty expensive. And the rest is airfare. did you try TICO TRAVEL?

Tico Travel gave me the best rate, so I went with them. And they were beating everyone else by at least 1,000

BTW, you may want to spend more than one night in Xandari, I loved it there. But don't order fish in the resturant, they can't cook it right...

we didn't use a travel agent for our cr trip, we booked it on our own. i would compare the agent's prices to the prices posted on the hotel website.
