I am looking to book my honeymoon. Is there anywhere else besides Aruba that is Hurricane Safe during August?

I know the orig post is from 2003, but since you're an 08 bride I'll bite
We're doing Sandals St. Lucia. It's supposed to be pretty safe during hurricane season. A lot of LIW brides go there all year round.

Really? St. Lucia? I thought that's not hurricane safe. I really want to avoid having to worry about hurricanes and still want that whole nice beach thing..

I'm getting married in October and am pretty much having the same issue. We haven't decided on a HM spot but we were thinking of going to French Polynesia, Mexico (western - Cabo, Puerto Vallarta), Hawaii or somewhere in Europe.

Beautiful places, however...the value of the dollar is so bad right now, that anywhere in Europe will cost you double the price than what you would have payed otherwise. We were originally going to Italy, but we are changing our destination because of the value of the dollar

Re: places to Honeymoon in August??
The dollar value is a great point that many people wouldn't have thought off. A cruise can steer to a different location if there is pending hurricane. Niagara Falls is gorgeous. It is cheaper to stay in the Canada side. I was married the first time around in the end of August and we went to Jaimaca, same with my brother and my mother's second marriage was the first week in Sept. None of us had any problems. Hurricane season is a concern but I don't think you should avoid your desired destination because of it. It really is a once in a lifetime vacation and you should go were you always dreamt of going. I have bad luck when I go anywhere, I just deal with the weather. I went to Myrtle Beach in Aug and they went under a tornado watch. I went to Las Vegas in Feb. It rained went I got there, they were on a 3 month drought. I could go on, but I won't. I say don't worry about it. Deal with the situation if it occurs.Welcome New Vendors
