How do you handle the tux situation?

So how does it work if all the groomsmen can't get their tuxes and ties and stuff at the same place cause they are all from all over.

What do you do?

Do you pick out the tie and tell them all the designer and color? Can you do that...or do they just try to find the same store?

Do you tell them the style tux you want them to rent? Do you just get all the stuff for them and have them pay you back? We really dont know how to handle this.

Re: How do you handle the tux situation?

The tuxedo shop can start an order form for you with all the Tux details and colors. Then the groomsmen can either go to the store in their area, or send their sizes to the store.

Make sure the groomsmen know the name of the order and get the measurements that the Tux place specify.

Re: How do you handle the tux situation?

I would have your groomsmen send you their measurements and then you can order the tuxes for them. I dont think you need to pay until the tuxes are picked up..

Otherwise there are going to be mistakes. Atleast if you use one shop (near you) if there are any mistakes then they can be fixed before the wedding.

Re: How do you handle the tux situation?

We're using After Hours, which is also a national chain. FH will choose the tux, the fellas have to go to an After Hours in their location to get measured. They will fax the measurements to our store here & that's that.

Re: How do you handle the tux situation?

Our GM are in Ireland so what we are going to do is ask them to be measured by someone where they live. I am going to mail them a chart for what they have to have measured, and shoe size. I think most of them are coming the Sunday before the wedding and so we are just going to have to explain to the tux place our situation and they are going to have to do quick fittings that Monday or even that Sunday if they are open, and then the guys will have to go and pick up on Thursday.

(ps: for anyone that has GM in a country where they use metric for measurements, make sure they go to a place or use a measure that has inches on them. To calculate from metric to inches, you loose a few 1/4 inches here and there, better off to have them all do it in inches).

Re: How do you handle the tux situation?

We had 3 GM in AZ...they just sent in their measurements (ANY tux will do this as a professional courtesy)

then a few days before they went to pick the tux up...tried it on had it fitted if necessary...
It was really great to work with Boneventure (they even suffered through one of my only Bridezilla moments)
