registry - i have nothing left to add!
i had a big engagement party and registered at 4 stores. i hardly have anything left on the registries now but there is nothing i want to add!my parent's will store a lot of my gifts until we get a house (fh is moving into my little co-op in the city)-- i don't want people to buy stuff on their own so i feel i should add stuff but i wish they just realized how small my apt is and that i already had everything to begin with. just wanted to complain that i have to add other things i really don't need right now (but i guess i shouldn't be complaining).

Re: registry - i have nothing left to add!
can't you register for your honeymoon - or for a downpayment of a house. i know it's untraditional, but if there's nothing else you need, it might be an option!

Re: registry - i have nothing left to add!
The downpayment thing would make me very uncomfortable - it's like asking for cash. The HM idea is cool though - when you pick your place you can register for things like tours, recreation activities, room service, etc. I don't know how to set them up though.

Re: registry - i have nothing left to add!
Dont worry about using them Now - you will use them once you get a house or bigger place. Believe me you will appreciate those gifts when you have the expense of a house and taxes and everything else that goes along with it.

Re: registry - i have nothing left to add!
people have bought me my casual china and my fine china. both sets of silverware, casual and formal glassware, i have a great dvd player already, stereo, tv, electronics, household appliances. my parents are not going to want to store lawn furniture for me for 3-4 years until i get a house - esp since they will be moving early next year. i would register for furniture but can't find a good place to register. i have added bed sets, duvet covers, towels (even though i have all of this), vacuum, ent't center, etc. hahahah.does no one else have this problem but me?
maybe that means i should get a house now!
but i'm waiting till we go to grad school and start working. ugh- it will be so long from now when i can have my stuff with me!!
oh- i even added a 2nd set of fine china in a different pattern!! we had about 275 people at my engagement party and will have over 300 at the wedding i think! it's crazy.

Re: registry - i have nothing left to add!
I understand your predicament - I anticipated that it would happen to me also so I waited until after my engagement party to register for my shower. I ended up getting ALOT of money, gift certificates and really orginal gifts that I never would have thought of.Where are you registered? I'm registered at Fortunoff and Bed, Bath and Beyond and I know both places offer 'gift cards' as part of the registry. I would add a few more items to the registry and then I would add a bunch of gift cards so that you can always go back later on and get the stuff you didn't get or the stuff you didn't realize you needed.

Re: registry - i have nothing left to add!
I hope I have this problem. I'm really worried I won't get the stuff on my registry.Between glasses, sterling silver, fine china and every day china (sold individually and more expensive than fine china) - I think I'm going to have to finish it myself (only inviting 165 since FH isn't American and has 2 family members coming).
My mom told people not to send engagement gifts!! (I would never ask for gifts but I don't want to turn them down either!)
I'd register at Home Depot or Costco if I ran out of stuff on my registry though.
Instead of asking people to contribute to the honeymoon - they can actually pay for things you will do on your honeymoon ( massage or meals). I like that idea better than asking people to give a contribution toward on big gift.

Re: registry - i have nothing left to add!
If you can't find places to register for items you'd like you can create your own at www.wishrepublic.com.We created one there for specialty cooking item that FH could not find at stores offering gift registries.
Congrats on getting so many items from your registry!!!
