Marriage license questions

Where do you get it? The town in which you live or the town where you are getting married?

I called both and I get no answer!!!

I live in Selden and getting I'm married in Stony Brook. Help ladies, who do i call to get the marriage license???

I went to the town I lived in (for my first wedding). You don't need to go to the town where the wedding is taking place.

You can get your marriage license anywhere in NYS - any town even in NYC since it's issued by NY State and not the county or town. I am getting mine on Friday!

We did it in the town we live in! Took a few minutes! Our marriage certificate was in by the time we got back for our honeymoon!
