SEPT 19TH NYCITY LADIES AND THOSE WHO WORK IN THE CITY END OF SUMMER GTG

Ok so far Marcella has recommended Serendipity, someone said it's small. I looked at their prices and they are affordable. I was thinking we should do desserts and drinks instead of dinner, since most people did not even eat all that they ordered at the last GTG. If anyone has any suggestion of dates and place, please place them here. We would prefer a Friday

Having trouble thinking of someplace that will accomdate a noisy group like us and also be willing to give us the space for just dessert.

What about the Grand Central concourse? Isnt there some nice little coffee stands and dessert stuff there? Then we could just grab a bunch of tables and everyone could figure out what they want to eat (dinner, dessert, nothing) on their own.

Ive never been there after work though...are things open? is it a mad house?

I just posted this on the other thread but next door to me is PG Kings. A bar/restaurant place with a decent sized dining room that is usually empty in the evenings. I have gone there countless times with groups of people and we were always comfortable and never rushed. I don't know about their dessert menus but they have appetizers, salads, dinners, etc.

It's on 33rd Street between 5th & Broadway. They are reasonably priced and close to most subways & Penn.

What do you mean? In terms of size? Its huge and all open seating (like a food court except the food choices are nicer than they are in a mall).

I think each place has their seating for their place, we cannot pull the seats together if we get food from different place. I know its big but I don't think its group friendly

Do they have a website, do they have great desserts and great drinks and are their prices great, is that asking too much?? Is there an option if people want to eat they can? can they accomodate a group??? what are their hours???

ETA: They are open until 4AM, they are inexpensive, they have all kinds of food (burgers etc..) in addition to yummy desserts and coffee and other drinks. I'm calling to find out about groups...

Ok, the guy on the phone was an idiot. But, they don't need a reservation for any amount of people. So I'm also going to assume that they will let us order whatever we want...it seems like the most "loose" place to go. It's right on the corner of Bleeker and LaGuardia...one of the 4 corner restaurants on that same intersection. Very famous place.

I agree with Marcella too...Caliente is very cool.

I'm not 100% about the Friday's later in September, unless this will be my birthday party. lol. It all depends upon DH and his plans...

Maybe we should get an idea of how many people are definitely coming and then pick a place and date based on that?
