Bridesmaid Dress Dilemma

My bridesmaids want a Bill Levkoff Dress from his New Image Collection. It's style #2704. Is anyone using this dress? When we went to try it on the saleswoman said the skirt is very fitted, especially around the hips - it's called a trumpet skirt. We were under the impression the skirt was an A Line skirt - that's what's in the dress description on his site.

The problem is that two of the girls(my MOH and one bridesmaid) prefer an A line skirt as the fitted skirt doesn't flatter them. I can't have my MOH and a bridesmaid wearing another dress - I think that would look funny.

I was thinking of having everyone wear a different dress but same color and material just to make everyone happy but two of my bridesmaids insist on having the #2704 dress.

Any suggestions? I'm ready to give them all black hefty bags to wear at this point!!!

Re: Bridesmaid Dress Dilemma

How many girls are you having? Check out David's bridals. THey have pics of bunches of girls in dif dresses. I DO NOT RECOMEND DAVIDS BRIDAL TO BUY YOUR DRESSES.

Does anyone have pics of their bridal party in different dresses they could post?

Re: Bridesmaid Dress Dilemma

What about two piece dresses. That way every one can pick out a top and a bottom in the same color.

Re: Bridesmaid Dress Dilemma

Thanks for the suggestions. We were in Bridal Reflections in Massapequa today to look at the dress when the salesperson told us that the skirt is very fitted. We did look at separates but the ones they had were very plain. What we like about Bill Levkoff #2704 is the beadwork on the bodice. I think I'm going to suggest that we look at other dresses by other designers.

Re: Bridesmaid Dress Dilemma

I would also go to other salons...maybe they have a better selection of stuff too, so you can get more ideas that fit your style.

Re: Bridesmaid Dress Dilemma

bari jay has a bunch of separates too. if you go to any bridesmaid dress shop- there is always a huge rack of 2 pieces - some of which you can mix and match.

Re: Bridesmaid Dress Dilemma

I highly recommend The Baldwin Wedding Plaza, and also look at Emme dresses, they have a lot of mix and match for all sizes and they are cut very generous.
