I am getting married in May and my FMIL wants us to pick the place this month so she can make the arrangements. It is safe to say at least 8 months before your wedding.

I hope not, if thats the case we may not have a rehearsal dinner! (we are wayyyy behind in the planning)

I think that my MOH planned her rehearsal in January for a May wedding but it was a Thursday rehearsal.

It's all up to you. I guess if you think about it the rehearsal dinner is just like going to a restaurant with a big crowd. If you are picking a pretty popular place to have the rehearsal dinner at then you should start looking. And also, if you plan on having a lot of people coming to the dinner, starting early to find a place is a good idea, especially if you're paying for it.

we booked ours a few months before the wedding.

I bboked mine in July for my October wedding, but I am having a Friday Rehersal, and I wanted to make sure I could find a place, since alot of places told me no to Fridays.
