Thinking of getting cell phones with family plan.Any good deals out there?

I was thinking of getting one for me and one for DH. I would like to get those nice flip phones but I know places usually run specials and give you the phone for nothing so I'm not willing to pay a lot of money for phones. Also don't need any fancy extras.

Thanks. I currently have AT&T but I my contract ran out so I can cancel at any time.
I also heard Verizon is good. I think the prices are probably about the same.

I'm looking to do the same thing. I have Verizon, and am happy with them, but I'm thinking of switching to Nextel.

I'm in NC, I'm sure NY has some kind of deal, but Cingular has a family plan. I don't know how much the phones are, but it's $49.99 per month for the first phone, and then $10.00 per month for the additional phone. You get a bunch of minutes too!

Thanks. I don't know anyone who has used that company in NY so I don't have any opinions to base it on in this area.

Re: Thinking of getting cell phones with family plan.Any good deals out there?

i use cingular - but not the family plan. i like them because of the rollover minutes every month so they don't go to waste if you don't use them. of course, i have never even used up all of my minutes, so it's worthless to me, but it's nice to know the option is there...

edited because i spelled cingular wrong

Re: Thinking of getting cell phones with family plan.Any good deals out there?

We have TMOBILE Family Share Plan & we have unlimited between our two phones and 800 shared minutes--free weekends & no roaming or long distance-- now if the service actually worked it'd be great! LOL they were really great until the blackout but then they had so much damage from it that it's been pretty bad--but look into it-they do have great customer service.

Re: Thinking of getting cell phones with family plan.Any good deals out there?

We also have T-Mobile and find that the coverage has actually been improving. It used to be that we didn't get a signal at home in Sayville, at some areas along Montauk Hwy, and in Huntington, and now I'm gettting a good signal in all those places. Their customer service has been good. We haven't noticed any drop in service since the blackout. I did read awhile back in Newsday that T-Mobile was considered the low-cost provider among the options.
