Photography/Videography Budget
I was wondering if anyone was willing to share their photo/video budget ... I am just starting to look and I want to go in prepared. Also, can you custom make your packages or are most standard? You can FM if that's better for you!
Any help would be great! Thanks so much! These boards are really helpful for us newbies!

Re: Photography/Videography Budget
Just be prepared to spend more after the wedding than your package includes.

Re: Photography/Videography Budget
I was hoping to keep it around $2500, but we fell in love with our photographer. FIL's are paying for it and they said the money wasn't the issue, so we went with it. Plus, FFIL grew up with the husband of the team. They have a great personality. It seems between $2500-$4000 is the average. If budget is a major issue, you can check Duet or Peconic Photo out east. both are very reasonable.

Re: Photography/Videography Budget
For both, we budgeted between $6-8k. Although it looks like we are at the higher end, you can find great deals with some of the photogrpahers and some places do both!I know the girls on here like Imagine, Duet and Patken.
You can also check out Mark Kauffman, he customizes packages for you and Wild Rose Video!

Re: Photography/Videography Budget
I was trying to stay below $5,000 for both, which I was able to do. My photographer is very reasonably priced- Dominic from Twelfth Night photo. His prices are on his website: www.twelfthnightphoto.comMy videographer was also reasonably priced, but I think his prices went up. FM me if you have any other questions.

Re: Photography/Videography Budget
we arent doing a video but we budgeted 3500 for pictures and have found Patken, Duet and VIP to be within that. Duet is the MOST affordable out there their combo package of video and photo was 3500. VIP thier biggest package for video and photo was 6400.Obviously they can be more or less.
Most of the places we went to have a set package, but you can trade things you dont want for others. We are planning on adding to our package after the wedding to accommodate what we need.
The best video/photo package that I have heard of was from Marco Photography. My friends package is so inclusive that she probably wont need to add anything after wards and she is paying 5400 for both. Good Luck!

Re: Photography/Videography Budget
I think it starts with you prioritizing what is important to you and then go from there. If photography is up there on your list then you should put more of your budget there and less in say something like favors/flowers etc. Then start looking at work that you like, make appts and see them. You can check out my photographer and videographer. They did both for us, a husband and wife team and they do awesome work. They are a vendor on here and a lot of brides have used them. Good luck.
