Kids Party Characters/Entertainers,etc... REcommendations anyone ???

Im thinking about whether to get a 'character' for JAs bday party. Does anyone have a company theyve used before and would recommend?

Pray for no rain this weekend! (looks like a maybe =(
I want some more backyard time before I really accept that summer is over!

I dont have a rec either, Im still interviewing clowns for Lukies party but I hear a warm spell is coming. That and no rain this weekend would be AWESOME for JA's bash

Liz, what are your tips on a good clown. 'They say' that the big thing now is that clowns dont wear the white makeup because it scares the little ones.
What irks me is a clown thats wearing clothes or sneakers that 'dont go' with the outfit. I like the TRUE CLOWN from head to toe.

Anna, there is a company called send in the clowns that has been known for a long time in the Bayside area but I am almost positive will travel. I teach the owners son now and I used to have his daughter...they are very reputable and the owner is a doll. I think the site itself is sendintheclowns.com and the owners name is Gary..

Anna-the clown I am meeting tomorrow doesnt do the whole clown make up thing for that very reason-it scares the kids, especially like our little ones' age. He said he wears mismatched clothes and does draw on eyebrows for his clown look

ETA: tips I guess are what will he/she be doing to entertain the kids based on the age group. Obvioulsy what works for 2 year olds wont work for 7 year olds. So what do they do to earn their $ for the hour or hour and 1/2

Ill let you know how my clown interview goes tomorrow. He's stopping by after he drops his kids off for school. I had visions of them rolling their eyes at his schtick LOL!

Noreen, we have used Send in the clowns for a couple of our parties and they were great! They will travel to Nassau and Suffolk. The prices are reasonable, they were on time and great with the kids! THe first party we had Bob the Builder and a clown come. THe second party we had Spiderman come with a moon bounce. Both times they made cotton candy and balloon animals with the kids.

My friend just had a clown & Pooh at ther daughters 2nd b-day party. the kids loved them!!

they did spin art, baloon animals, tatoos, photos, cotton candy & dancing.

I will call her & get there web-site (I can't find it)
