Went to engaged encountered weekend last week..

Just wanted to tell you about the engaged encountered weekend for precana. It was a good weekend, but very intense and sometimes seemed too long, but overall we benefited from it.

We stayed at a retreat house in Glen Cove. Two couples run it. It starts on Friday night at around 7:30 and you leave at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. You go to bed late and are up and eating breakfast both days by 8:00 a.m.!!!!

Bring flip flops for the showers (totally forgot!) and a pillow and an alarm clock.

They pose different situations at you and you have a journal. They give you a list of questions that you alone answer, they ring a bell after about 20 minutes and then you meet with your FH and discuss. We really liked it and found it beneficial.

Hope this helps because I was very curious before I went!

I'm guessing they made you sleep in separate rooms.

FH and I were talking about doing this.
Did you feel trapped being there?
What were the sleeping arrangements?
He wanted to know how the food was (LOL)
Do you get breaks?

You DEFINITELY sleep in separate rooms with one other girl. The food was actually not that bad. They give one two hour break on Saturday. Bring your own pillow and flip flops for the shower!!!!!
