Like the rest of North shore Nassau county, very high. You may get lucky if you find a very old house. Older homes that have not had a ton of renovation may be ok.

I think it really varies on size and location of house.

I just went to
http://www.mlslirealtor.com and did a Manhasset search and saw taxes from $7,000 to over $18,000.

What about Little Neck Hills or Douglaston. It's still Queens so the taxes are lower

I'd imagine even the smallest house in Manhasset would be a pretty penny - that's a wonderful town & location!

Marcela - we are going to look around there also - FH is pretty picky with where he wants to live - he lives 5 minutes from work now and doesnt want that to change- I on the other hand work all teh way out on LI so i have an insane commute - I would love douglaston - hopefully i can convicne him -

I dont think it really matters how old the house is. Manhasset is very expensive. I work in Port Washington, and The houses from here to Manhasset and Great Neck are very beautiful. I can only imagine what the taxes are. They all have to be over $7,000.

my sister lives in manhasset.. taxes use to be low(2500, until a recent reassement shes now at 5000)...3 bedroom one bath house with a shared driveway

I love love love that area, but there is no way in hell we would ever be able to afford either the taxes or the houses. It's probably one of the wealthiest areas in Nassau. I would think that for what you would pay there you could get so much more elsewhere.
