Question on joint bank account before married...
who pays the tax on the interest credited?

The primary account holder. Even on a joint account one person is considered the primary. That is usually the fist person listed on the account. The interest statement from the bank will come with that persons name and social security number on it.

i never realized that...
but on the advise from my mom...its always nicer if the woman's name is listed first...DH doesn't care...so he lets me be first
