A question about your wedding bands (rings)
Ok some questions about rings for all of you.Did you get them custom made? Or buy one already set?
If you got it custom made how did they work it - did they send it out - or did they make the mold in front of you - I don't want it to leave my sight but every place I talk to wants to send it somewhere - and thinks I'm strange for not wanting to part with it.
Anyway...Also do you have pictures of your rings?

Re: A question about your wedding bands (rings)
I would like to have one custom made to match my e-ring. I don't know if we will be able to afford it. I'm not sure if we can really go over the $500 mark right now. Maybe just a regular band now, and the custom one as an anniv gift later on.

Re: A question about your wedding bands (rings)
This is not an area we're slurging in. In Jewish tradition, the wedding ring is supposed to be plain anyway. So I'm just getting a 2mm yello gold wedding band, which I'll wear with my ering, and FI is getting a plain white and yellow gold band.

Re: A question about your wedding bands (rings)
these are ours--ETS: that our rings together were about $1000
Mine matches my ering exactly-i'll post a pic of them together but it's a little blurry-you can get the point--i didn't part with my ering for them to make it and i don't blame you for not wanting to! mine was already designed--specifically for my ring setting, but not custom made--does that make sense?

Re: A question about your wedding bands (rings)
I am getting my ring custom made to match my e-ring. I am going to Elsa. She is a vendor on the boards and a very nice woman. Last saturday, the actual wax mold was made of my wedding band. She brought me in the back and I sat with the woman while she mad e the mold of the ring. In a few weeks we will be picking out the diamonds for my ring. It is platinum with 6 diamonds, 1/2 carat. FH's ring is one that he saw in the place, but with some modifications. It is going to be white gold. Polished & Brushed, and his will have 5 diamonds .15 carat. I can't wait to see the rings actually finished! I will definately post pics!i

Re: A question about your wedding bands (rings)
I did not have my rings custom made. The first ring (the one I got married with) was my Grandmothers- a platimum and .25 carat ring in a fishtail setting from 1951- I now wear this on my right hand. Frankly- we couldn't jusitfy 1-2k on a wedding band when we are trying to save for a house. Recently, my DH gave me a .25 carat white gold wedding band that more exactly matches my e-ring. It was like $250 (he knows the guy that owns the shop). I love the fact that now I have 2 and that we didn't go into debt.

Re: A question about your wedding bands (rings)
I wouldn't know!! My FH bought my wedding band and I'm not allowed to see it until the wedding. His theory 'well, if I can't see you in your dress then you can't see the ring - that'll be your surprise'. It pissed me off at first but now I'm excited!! And I trust his taste he picked out the most perfect engagement ring!!

Re: A question about your wedding bands (rings)
I didn't have mine custom made...but it matches my e-ring perfectly. We got them both for $1000 at a Jewelry Exchange here in NJ where we live. I love it...I am always trying it on when FH isn't around...heheh :)Welcome New Vendors
