Adult Only Weddings - Do you tell guests 'no children'?

Should it be written on the invitation?

I guess it's too late for me since I already ordered my invitations.

No this shouldnt go on an invitation. The best way is by word of mouth.

Re: Adult Only Weddings - Do you tell guests 'no children'?

It should be obvious by how the envelope is addressed. Reinforce this by word of mouth OR put 'Adult reception' on the reception card.

Re: Adult Only Weddings - Do you tell guests 'no children'?

My cousin had 'adult reception' printed on the invitation. I think that you should still let it be known that you don't want children at your reception even though your invitations have been ordered already.

Re: Adult Only Weddings - Do you tell guests 'no children'?

previous posters are right: you SHOULDN'T have to put it on the invitation. word of mouth and the way the invitation is addressed SHOULD be enough.

but.... there are too many horror stories of how people 'just don't get it'. if you can, write 'adult reception' on your reception card

Re: Adult Only Weddings - Do you tell guests 'no children'?

I did! and I am glad!

I just ordered my invites, and instead of putting Adult Reception on the actual invite...

I put it in the corner of the RSVP card... That's what they told me to do at the store.. that way when they go to reply for their child they automatically see it on the RSVP card.

Hope that helped!

Re: Adult Only Weddings - Do you tell guests 'no children'?

I didn't put it anywhere. I will just address the inner envelope with Mr and Mrs. If someone RSVPs with a child - we will handle it then.

You should really just rely on the addressing and hope that people take the hint when the kids names aren't on the invite.

Ditto!

But people are dumb so if they reply with children then you gotta let them know...even though its tough!

Re: Adult Only Weddings - Do you tell guests 'no children'?

I put adult reception on my reception cards. They should also realize that the outer envelope does not say and family and then when the get to the inner envelope it says only the adults names. They dont so I had do add something else to make people in our families understand, lol. Hope it works.

I agree - I think word of mouth and the way you address your invitation should be enough. Although you never know, but I would wait to see if people get it and if they don't then you say something to them. But most people will get it by the way you address your envelop.

Re: Adult Only Weddings - Do you tell guests 'no children'?

On the inner envelope I wrote the names of the people that were invited. They got the picture.
