'almost the big day exercise thread' check-in 4/27

OK... for me, yesterday I had another intense firm DVD work-out.... 12 lb weights, 14' step aerobics... and I felt stronger than tuesday, but am still a bit weak in the wrists and back... likely becuase I don't maintain perfect form (due to not working out regularly in march ) Every adidtional workout I'll get stronger though, so I'm not worrying about it!

On the food front, I did OK overall, but did have some carbs at both lunch and dinner... breaking my rule of carbs only at one....

and dinner contained some bacon Not optimal, but since I don't snack, not a lethal transgression...

so, how's it going with you?

Re: 'almost the big day exercise thread' check-in 4/27

Ok ladies so the weather gods were nice to me this morning. I did my morning run at 6am and when I turned down my block at 7am the rain went from a drizzle to pouring!! woohoo, glad I got it in there.

Unfortunately I am in Conn for work for the day so all I have had today are 2-32oz bottles of water and a 100 calorie snack.

Re: 'almost the big day exercise thread' check-in 4/27

you girls are so good!

I yet again did not exercise out of sheer laziness! wait, that's not completely true. I did some crunches and some arm exercises before I went to bed, but nothing to brag about.

In terms of eating...

Breakfast:
Luna Bar
Vitamin Water
Reg Water

Lunch:
Since I'm going to happy hour, I need some substance so I think I'll get a sandwich.

What's good for you but tasty? NO turkey!

Re: 'almost the big day exercise thread' check-in 4/27

I love getting a salad w/ grilled chicken, raisins and walnuts w/ balsamic dressing.. mmm mm.

Even though my wedding is over I still have the HM in 3 weeks!!

Went to the gym last night, took cardio dance, then the 30 min ab class after.

I eat everything high in fiber, you lose weight faster! Just replace all your regular bread, or snack bars w/ higher fiber in it!

Yes, this is true... I've just been adding Fibersure to my water. No taste and not gritty... I put 2 teaspoons in a 20 oz bottle of watter - -gives it 10 grams of fiber!

oooh I need to try that one! The one I add to my water is still kinda gritty and it's 2 Tblsp=8grams! So yours is less but more fiber!

Re: 'almost the big day exercise thread' check-in 4/27

i went to the minor league baseball game for the team here in tucson and let's just say thursdays are $1 beer night. . . .

but i did manage to do 45 minutes of cardio before the game.

and you girls are totally on point with the fiber thing. i changed my diet to include high fiber a few years ago and it's really made a difference!!

Re: 'almost the big day exercise thread' check-in 4/27

I'm joining the club late.... but this is a really good idea!

Ok, so last night I jogged for only 20 minutes with the FH.
We jogged to CVS, bought mascara, and jogged home. I did sprint for a minute during that jog to be goofy and wore myself out doing it.

I planning to get up this morning and do my pilates video but I couldn't get my ars out of bed... too many bad wedding nightmares and the rain made me feel lazy.
I'm heading to the gym this afternoon for some cardiolicious activity.

Then maybe some more cardiolicious activity later this evening with FH... HALLA!

Re: 'almost the big day exercise thread' check-in 4/27

I had a personal trainer for only 3 sessions. He was awesome and kicked my butt... but I couldn't afford to keep it up even though he gave me a good deal.
If I had money, I'll tell you what I'd do, I'd go downtown and buy a trainer or two....

Yeah, Im a little upset. I FIANLLY used my free personal training assesment the other day and LOVED it. I was really interested in getting one.
So last night, like an idiot, I signed a year contract thinking that I would cancel after a mo or 2... I dont know what I was on but once I got home a read ther terms I started freaking out. It was like $1500 for the year and if I cancel and I have to pay 50% of the balance.
So today Im going to go there and see if theres anyway I can buy a 1 month/6 sessions and maybe pay per session going forward but I really dont think they are going to offer anything like that

Re: 'almost the big day exercise thread' check-in 4/27

Didn't exercise yesterday but ate pretty well all day, and won't be exercising tonight because we have dinner plans with friends but I've been saving most of my calories for that! Today I had oatmeal for breakfast and a turkey, lettuce and tomato sandwich on whole grain bread with mustard for lunch.

I wish my metabolism was halfway decent. I guess the only up-side to that is that I know how to eat right because I've always had to watch. But still...

Re: 'almost the big day exercise thread' check-in 4/27

THANK GOD I have a 3 day-No obligation/cancellation period. Thats why Im going straight there after work.
I go to LA Fitness. Dont get me wrong, I love the gym. Ive been a memeber there since they opened. Im just upset about the cost and the terms of ther agreement.
(They outsource their personal trainers..Its a company called Body of Change)

Re: 'almost the big day exercise thread' check-in 4/27

Didn't exercise yesterday at all, but I did good diet wise.

Today I'm really hyper, probably b/c I got alot of wedding stuff accomplished this week. I'll probably do my Power 90 strength training tonight.

I bought a pedometer earlier this week also. I've been averaging about 7,000 steps per day. Today I've slacked a little only 2,000 so far.
I heard you should go for about 10,000 per day.
