Anyone involved in getting the guest list together for your own Bridal Shower?

Anyone involved in getting the guest list together for your own Bridal Shower?

Hi another stupid question here. I just want to see if I'm the only one who came up with an 80+ guest list for my bridal shower. I am in the middle of trying to come up with a guest list my MOH asked me to get together for her (she promised that's all she'll ask me for, she just needed this to start with). Anyway, with my list of people, my mother's list and FMIL's list, we are coming up with OVER 80 guests. Is this normal? There's really no place to cut the list and I really feel bad for my MOH since she's taking over MOST of the cost

Lauren, I once made a scracthy list my mom and our list alone is about 50-60 people and with the people that my MIL wants to invite, I will probably have the same amount of people.

My list will probably be close to 80 as well. I'm trying to find a way to cut back, but I think my BM and MOH will have to deal with it.

I cut my list down dramatically. Most places on Long Island are about $25 a head for a saturday afternoon luncheon. If you want beer or wine add about anpther 5 dollars per head. With 80 people on the guest list plus tax and tip we are talking about over $2500. With only 3 girls in my vridal party there was no way I could expect them to pay that.

My MOH recently asked for a list, mine is about 75 and I am having a big wedding, I refer to it as the 'extravaganza'. Anyway, while going through my guest list I realized there were going to be a lot of single, good looking guys at my wedding. Maybe you ladies should send your single girlfriends to my reception..

seriously though - any good prospects? She doesn't meet many men, so I'm always looking out for her.

I made my own list, it had that many people. My MOH freaked out and made me cut the list several times.
PS- I later find out that she isnt even paying for the shower!

I also made my list because my Grandma, Mom and probably my Dad too will all be chipping in and I didn't want them to invite every female that is invited to the Wedding, so by me givign the list, it was much smaller, around 60 people and I still feel bad that they are paying for this, they would never ask the Bridal Party for $$.

I was in a BP once where the brides list had 105 people on it... fortunately there were 11 girls to pay for it...I'll be putting my own list together too but I won't have nearly that many b/c I'm trying to keep my wedding small.

I have around 100 people...both of our sides of the family are accounted for...crazy but there is no way I can cut the list!

Since my BP has to pay for this, I tried not to give a list w/too many ppl. So I only invited close friends + close family and a few close Future IL's.
My list is at 35 now.

I kept it to a minimum. About 25 -30 people. It was easy to do that bc all my relatives are in Ireland, and I asked my FMIL to keep it to people I know well.
She hinted that she would like more people, so I told her to host a luncheon for me and her friends if she wanted. Whether she does or not is up to her.

I put together my list as well for my sister (MOH) and there are about 85 people.

I put together my list and I have about 35 people. Many of these people live in different states and will probably not be able to make the shower.
