Are you having a 'Theme' for your wedding?

I haven't given much thought to this, but wonder if maybe I should think of some kind of theme for the day? Are any of you girls having a 'theme' wedding, and if so, what theme?

We didn't start with any kind of theme, but now, it's gone to the Kim Anderson type of theme.

Re: Are you having a 'Theme' for your wedding?

Yes, since we are getting married in October and we both love the fall, it became a fall themed wedding...invites, favors, decorations, leaves, pumpkins, etc. I don't think I consciously said will be a 'fall theme' but it just became that way and I love it.

Re: Are you having a 'Theme' for your wedding?

I really didn't plan on having a theme. I thought it would be too much hassel...but it just started to seem that everything we like fit into a beach/ocean theme so we're going with that. It's kind of appropriate since my FH is a yacht captain

Re: Are you having a 'Theme' for your wedding?

I am trying to incorporate a subtle Celtic/Irish theming into our wedding - (invites, favors(if we even do them), irish band, hopefully celtic pattern on cake).

thats about it for now.

Re: Are you having a 'Theme' for your wedding?

We are in Oct too, we started out with a Fall theme, but it evolved into an Old Wolrd Elegance theme, a little vintage & a little European(we're Hming there)
It totally suits us. I think that's the most important thing about themes-they need to go w/you.
Good Luck!

Re: Are you having a 'Theme' for your wedding?

Yes, we are getting married in May so we are going with the spring theme. Our catering hall has large pillars and flowers all around the fountains, so I actually saw invitations with the pillars and ivy wrapped around it and then there are centerpieces, I haven't made any decisions yet but possibly watering cans with flowers in them..lots of ideas!

Re: Are you having a 'Theme' for your wedding?

We're getting married in April and I was considering a 'springtime' theme as well. Other than 'Easter' I can't think of a more appropriate one. Can you just see the Easterbunny making an appearance at the reception! LOL

Re: Are you having a 'Theme' for your wedding?

you could do a cottage garden theme-spring flowers, watering cans & french flower pails, pretty paper cones for your pews-soo many great spring ideas!

Re: Are you having a 'Theme' for your wedding?

Nothing really screams 'THEME' but I have some elements of NYC icons running through my invites and favors. But the one element that does tie it all together is color - pretty much everything that can be red (within reason) is red save: BM Dresses & MY Dress.

Re: Are you having a 'Theme' for your wedding?

we seem to be ending up with a 'white' theme. all flowers are white, cream and ivory. Table names are 'white'things - thanks to this board - linen, cotton, snow, lace, etc. Favors looks like all white candies in glass vases with little white bags - help yourself kind of thing. And the place cards on a bed of white chrysanthemums on the foyer table.

Re: Are you having a 'Theme' for your wedding?

I don't consider what I am doing to be a 'theme,' just appropriate for the season...Spring. All the flowers used will be tulips; my pew decorations are galvanized pails with tulips in them hung w/ ribbon; my guests will be throwing flower petals; place cards are mini-galvanized pails with a votive in it...name tag attached, etc. etc. I guess that I'm also a bit flower happy as well. Part of the reason I am getting married in the spring... I love tulips. And...I am getting married at FLOWERfield.

Re: Are you having a 'Theme' for your wedding?

i also didn't start with a theme...but fell into one...

picked colors green and yellow and thought of grass and sun...and then my hall has a wonderful garden...so it was summer garden...and I matched the centerpieces, favors, placecards and table names to it
