Re: Aruba- for those who have gone, did you need a passport?

All you need is an original birth certificate and a picture ID. Your birth cert. needs to be county/state issued (not hospital issued) and needs to have a raised seal.

Re: Aruba- for those who have gone, did you need a passport?

No you don't. Your birth certificate and drivers license will work, according to the aruba website.

"United States citizens will not be required to provide a valid U.S. passport to enter the island nation. U.S. citizens will continue to be able to present either a birth certificate (with a raised seal) combined with government issued photo identification (such as a driver’s license) or a valid U.S. passport as a valid form of proof of citizenship to enter Aruba."

Re: Aruba- for those who have gone, did you need a passport?

ok here's my next question..can I use a pp instead of birth cert? My FI is going to kill me..I literarely harrassed him for months to get his pp renewed (thinking he needed it)..and of course, he waited until the last minute to do it, so now he had to pay $168 for that 1 week renewal...I'm not telling him..Ooops!!

You can use a birth certificate. I would recommend getting a passport anyway just in case. It is easier.

Of course.

I wouldn't even tell him that birth cert can be used.

Sure, customs will actually be faster if you do use a passport. Don't tell him you found out you don't need it... having one can only help you.

Re: Aruba- for those who have gone, did you need a passport?

ALL YOU NEED IN ANY CARIBBEAN ISLAND IS A VALID DRIVERS' LICENSE AND AN ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE WITH A RAISED SEAL. IT MUST BE THE REAL THING... NO PHOT COPIES AND NO BIRTH CERTIFICATES WITH BABY FEET..

GOOD LUCK
