Brad Pitt thinks a LOT of marriage . ..
well, we already knew Brad didn't hold his wedding vows in such high regard . . . but to hear him speak so nonchalantly about it makes me ill!Brad Pitt opens up on split
We may finally have some insight into what ultimately led to the breakup of ex-golden couple Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, MSN.com reports.
It seems the A-list actor never quite warmed up to that whole ''until death do us part'' aspect of his wedding vows.
''The idea that marriage has to be for all time -- that I don't understand,'' Pitt, 41, told GQ in an interview conducted shortly after Aniston filed for divorce in March.
The other thing Brad doesn't really grasp is why his marriage, which went kaput less than five years after he and Jennifer said ''I do'' in a million-dollar Malibu ceremony, is considered ``a failure.''
''It's talked about like it failed, I guess because it wasn't flawless,'' he says. ``Me, I embrace the messiness of life. I find it so beautiful, actually.''
This isn't the first time Pitt has expressed ambivalence over the idea of happily ever after. He presciently told Vanity Fair last year, ``I'm not sure if it really is in our nature to be with someone for the rest of our lives.''
According to Brad, it wasn't just ''one thing'' that doomed his relationship with Aniston, dismissing those widespread rumors that they went belly-up because he wanted a baby and she didn't.
''It's so complex and multifaceted,'' he says of their split. And no, ''complex and multifaceted'' is not his pet name for purported paramour Angelina Jolie.
Pitt goes on to call the Jolie talk ''hurtful,'' adding, ``They're really nasty out here. I mean, some of the things they've said during my and Jen's split -- things that are just deliberately said to get a rise out of her, just truly cruel -- make me want to punch their lights out.''
As for their uncoupling, ''We've done it our way, and I love her for that,'' Pitt explains. ``We've kept the love we have for each other.''

``We've kept the love we have for each other.''
OK, then why split? Ten bucks says that when it becomes final they will release the typical 'We plan to remain the best of friends.'
