Can't Decide- Glen Island, NY Botanical or Harrison House?

I have narrowed it down to a few places but am TOTALLY stressed about a final decision between Glen Island Harbor Club, NY Botanical Gardens and The Harrison House...Help me decide...........

Glen Island!
I was going to book my reception there, but they didn't have the room (with the windows all around facing the water) avail for my date

I ended up falling in love with the North Ritz Club...It is just as nice and elegant and I'll be the only bride!

JMHO:

I really didn't feel much for Glen Island because of the snooty attitudes of the banquet managers, and the too small cocktail hour rooms. (Also thought the bridal suites were too small and not comfortable being right off the cocktail hour site). The place is beautiful, but I really think you can get more for your money elsewhere. They just don't give you much for what you'll pay them.

I LOVE the NY Botanical Gardens though.

I'm biased because I'm getting married at the Glen Island. It's beautiful and everthing has been great so far with the planning. I've never been to the other two but I'm sure they are great as well. Go with whoever gives you the better deal.

i can't speak about the other places, but i've been to a couple of weddings at glen harbor....there is no doubt that the place is classy with a a capital C...the room is beautiful...the food was gourmet, not the typical banquet fare...although i had the chicken for an entree and it wasn't as good as it looked, i tasted FH's filet mignon and it was excellent...i'm not sure how much youre paying, but if the price is good for glen harbor, then don't hesitate

I also looked at Glen Island. I thought it was very nice but I did not like the fact that I would not be the only part there.

I also ended up booking the North Ritz Club. I thought it was absolutely beautiful and I am the only bride there. My mom went to a wedding there and she said the food was excellent. Good Luck

IMO - you just can't go wrong with Glen Island...it is so amazing there, and if I could have afforded it, that would have been my dream place. Also, I'm a former Westchester gal, so I'm a little biased!!

I was just at a wedding two weeks ago at the Glen Island Harbour Club. It was absolutely stunning!! I posted a detailed review about it under 'Pressing Flowers' (another bride just booked there and was asking about it). Everything there was stunning. If you're planning to get married there, the chapel is all windows and faces out onto the water. If you can time it right and get married as the sun is setting, it is absolutely breathtaking.

I went to high school in Dobbs Ferry, then after college, I lived with friends in Yonkers. I moved to LI about 2 years ago to be with my FH...where are you from?? Small world!!!!!!

Sorry to add the confusion but my vote is for The Harrison House. It is so beautiful there, very elegant and the best part is that guests can stay at the hotel and you can party into the wee hours at the bar upstairs.
