Can't Decide on Bridesmaids Dresses

I was thinking of having the girls wear different style dresses but the same color, fabric and designer. What do you girls think? I have 7 BMs. Will it look nice?

I love that look!! it makes the bridesmaids more comfortable and it looks great, cause not all girls look good in the same dress...

I think that is a great idea. I picked the color and told my BMs that they can pick whatever style they liked. I wanted everyone to be happy with their dress. They surprised me and all picked the same style.

I did that and it looked awesome! All the girls got to pick their own dress - so they all looked good! I had 6 girls.

I specified the color (claret) and the designer (Dessy/After-six)

We got lots of compliments.

i told my girls when we go for their dresses in october, they can pic their own dresses, as long as its the same color & fabric, this way they all feel comfortable. i have seen this and its nice. not all dresses look good on everyone.

I am definitely having my BM wear different dresses. I like the way it looks if everyone doesn't look like cookie cutter images of each other. I was originally going to pick a Mgfr and color and tell them to pick, but now I might just pick a color and tell them to go for it. It looks pretty if the dresses are the same color but different shades, styles, etc. Pick up a copy of the current InStyle Weddings and you'll see a spread on this. Good Luck!

I am doing this too! My bridesmaids are all wearing After Six/Dessy Matte Satin dresses in bordeaux. They all picked their own styles.

I just got a call that the last two are in..I can't wait to pick them up. My cousin got hers a couple weeks ago and said she has tried it on several times because she likes it so much! How many times do you hear BM's liking their dresses? Sure brought a smile to my face!

I was in a bridal party that did this and we got so many compliments. We wore Jessica McClintock burgundy dresses all in the same/similar material.
