Re: Curly2003- do you still go to Femina Salon for eyebrow threading?

is a skill of old. As I searched the internet for the history of threading I found that its origin is ambiguous, with some claiming that it began in the Middle East, India, or China. Traditionally, threading is used on the entire face, including upper lip, chin, eyebrows, sideburns and cheeks. I have seen old paper clips of Chinese amahs threading brows and faces in old Chinatown. However, in modern Singapore it appears that the Indians are practising this craft widely.

Threading is a hair removal technique that uses a cotton thread. The 100% cotton thread is twisted and rolled along the surface of the skin entwining the hairs in the thread, which are then lifted out from the follicle. It is said to be more precise than waxing.

Re: Curly2003- do you still go to Femina Salon for eyebrow threading?

Wow I never heard of this, two questions..does it take longer then waxing and does it hurt? Sounds like it would hurt a lot more then waxing.

Re: Curly2003- do you still go to Femina Salon for eyebrow threading?

I have had it done and while the results are great {better shape} and it lasts longer, it does hurt! It is like plucking over and over, unlike the rip of a wax....BUT I do it again because I love the results.

Re: Curly2003- do you still go to Femina Salon for eyebrow threading?

Where in Hicksville, please?

My hair stylist does my eye waxing but whatever wax she uses it rips the skin too.
She said she'd switch but I want to try threading first.

Re: Curly2003- do you still go to Femina Salon for eyebrow threading?

On Broadway in Hicksville I am not positive on the name of the place but if you are comming from broadway mall/ ikea/LIE area head south on 107 go past old country there is a King Kullen shopping center go past that and the first left you can make, make a u turn the store will be the last store in the strip next to the parking lot. Sorry for such weird directions

I think it is Called Aynna or Ainna something with an A. They do a really good job there. I think they are opened really early til like 7pm 7days a week.
