diamond help -- earrings?

Hi girls - my 30th is coming up and diamonds are my birthstone.... DH asked me what I wanted and truth be told, the only thing I want is a pair of diamond studs. I'm unsure of sizes though -- I'm debating between 1.5 total (.75 each) and 2.0 total (1.0 each). Will 2 cts be too much on my ears?

Re: diamond help -- earrings?

Since no one else suggested anything, I will. Maybe you can go to jewelry stores or even a place like Claires and hold up studs next to your ear (even if they're CZs) just to get an idea of the size that looks best for you. I don't think the weight will be too heavy. I dunno... I'm sure if you go to a jeweler they can help you though.

Re: diamond help -- earrings?

I'm a moron and I read your intial post wrong. 2 carats will not be too much, one in each ear. They're enough to stand on their own.

My brother wears a 1.5 ct stud and its gorgeous but i think a carat is perfect for everyday wear.

I'd go to the diamond district so you can see! I can FM you who I used for my wedding band there...

I think 'too much' when it comes to diamonds is never a bad thing

Happy early birthday!!

Re: diamond help -- earrings?

haha I agree that too much is never too much!! but I would say go try some on. . stores will let you do that and then you can figure out what you like best. . it might depend on how often you want to wear them. like if it's an everyday thing the .75 might be better but otherwise I say bigger is better!!!! (if DH is down with that!!!!)
