Did everyone get their portrait framed...

by the photography studio?
an outside source?

How did you decide on a frame? How long did it take to get? How much? How big? ETC ETC ETC

Can you suggest a good place?

Re: Did everyone get their portrait framed...

We had a 20x20 that we had framed by our photography studio. We picked the fram because it was the cheapest and it would match a lot of different things. I think it cost us about $225 for the frame and framing cost.

Re: Did everyone get their portrait framed...

We didn't get ours yet. It is ready, but we coudln't make an evening appointment untill July 14. We are getting an 8x 10, so I could get a regular frame in a store, but I am not sure yet.

If I do get it framed it won't be from the studio ( I didn't even know they did that) I would probbaly go the the framing place my MIL goes to for her needlepoint.

Is there a benefit to getting it framed professionally?

Re: Did everyone get their portrait framed...

nope. We had enlargements made for our moms and bought frames at Target. We did the framing ourselves. But, I can tell that the pics aren't flat and they're starting to get wavy, so we might redo them.

Re: Did everyone get their portrait framed...

We have 2 8x10's that we bought frames for and framed ourselves.
The photographer suggested that we buy mats for the frames so that the pictures wouldn't be stuck up against the glass. It looks very pretty that way also

We framed the 8x10's ourselves, but had our 16x20 portrait professionally framed (but not by our photographer!)

Re: Did everyone get their portrait framed...

We had our 16 x 20 framed at Michael's (thank goodness for the 50% off coupon )
It took about 3 weeks to get. I wouldn't get it framed at the photography studio because I'm sure they would have charged us an arm and a leg.

We had our 11 x 14 that we framed ourselves and we had 3 8 x 10s that we framed ourselves as well.

This is our 16 x 20
(sorry so small)

We got our frame from our photographer.

We told him the type of furniture we had and then showed us the ones he had.

It took about 2 weeks for our 20 x 24 (our picture was 16 x 20)

Re: Did everyone get their portrait framed...

We skipped the really big enlargement and pit that money towards upgrading our album. Neither of us really wanted a larger-than-life photo of ourselves. For us, 8X10 is plenty big enough.

Re: Did everyone get their portrait framed...

I'm with nferrandi. I think we're getting 4 8x 10s (2 for us and 1 for each set of parents). All the rest of ours will be in the album. I think a picture of the two of us would scare most people!

Re: Did everyone get their portrait framed...

We have a 16x20 that we have yet to get framed. We chose not to have our photographer do it because we just figured it would cost a lot. I'm going to have it done at Michael's one of these days.
