My FMIL is doing this for us in Syracuse. I think it's really sweet but we never thought of doing it ourselves.

Yes we did...Smithtown News.....It took forever for it to get in the paper....but after like 100 calls from my mother, it made it in.......

In one of the bride mags that I picked up it had a template of info that the papers usually ask for. I filled it out and sent it in.

I think it is fun... I have grown up in this town all my life and it is fun to have people recognize you when you are out and about. The other day FH and I are in a pizza place and a guy comes up to me and asks me are you heather? I was going to ask him if I owed him money but didn't.

It turns out it was my parents neighbor from 25 years ago. The moved but still live in the town.....

I also like seeing people that I went to high school getting married and engaged.....

I had seen it in past issues and thought it was cute. I know I have seen wedding pictures in Newsday of when a couple got married. Found a few classmates of mine got married that way.

I use to see it a lot more in years past, not so much this year. Thought to ask. I want to do it but i can't seem to find which paper to it in . Newsday is rather expensive to put a ad in for me right now thought like the neighborhood news something like that.
