Different songs for different people walking down the aisle?

Has anyone been to a wedding where different songs were played for each person who walks down the aisle?? If so or even if not, would it sound tacky to play for instance the beatles (I am dating myself) if someone walked down the aisle instead of something like canon in D???

I have never seen it. You could make it very personal that way. You may need to check with your music people and see if they have a problem doing it. The other thing to think about is the timing of it. It may seem 'choppy' if you are having live music.

I think it is a cute idea though.

I was thinking of doing this when they are introduced at the reception.

Since you say aisle - I'm guessing you mean the church and not the reception intro?? Are you getting married in a church?? I'm not sure if the church would allow that. They're so strict with everything else.

Re: Different songs for different people walking down the aisle?

I am getting married in a temple and it was actually the caterer who knows all of the rules there etc.. that suggested it. I don't know how I feel about it and yes I am talking about going down the aisle for the ceremony.

We played 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' by this Hawaiian singer instead. We got married at the same place we had the reception and I just loved the song and it sounds nice on the video. I am not a traditional person though!

JENHOS I haven't talked to my DJ about doing it yet. Did yours give you a problem or they don't mind doing diferent songs for different people in the bridal party (at reception)?

Re: Different songs for different people walking down the aisle?

Stace, I love that song!!!!
We had our reception at our hall & we used
Truly Lionel Richie as our prelude
She's got a way Billy Joel for the seating of our Moms up to our maid of honor
Evergreen Barbara Streistand for flowergirl & me
You light up my life Debbie Boone during unity candle
Spring Vivaldi(our only classical piece)Recessional

All played on piano & flute without vocals, we haven't gotten our video yet, but I love the way it worked out.
Do whatever means the most to you & your hubby. We just knew we wanted it to be different.
