Do any of you have people you love in your life that . . .

get extremely insulted when you don't take their advice or make the decision they wanted you to make? I am going crazy right now with this! I can never make a decision without someone thinking that I did not take their advice and getting insulted.

I am so frustrated I hate having disagreements with people I love

I don't really have anyone that gets insulted, they basically get mad!! And they are my parents and DH. If I don't take their advice they get mad and make me feel guilty to no end. But its my life, I have to make decisions that I think are best for me and my family. I'll admit, half the time they are right, but hey, we learn from our mistakes. I rather go it on my own and screw up sometimes, than take their advice. You have to do whats right for you!! Hope I helped a little!!

This is my problem and if I listen to one then it's 'you only listen to FH' if I listen to the other then I get 'you only listen to your parents' It makes me sad - I am tearing up as I am writing this because I am always torn back and forth- it's not a competition. I listen to both and then I decide. I love everyone and hate when people are mad and or/insulted - I can't please everyone and I wish everyone weren't so sensitive!

Like you said, you can't please everyone and you never will. Think about the decision YOU have to make, decide what is best for you and do it!! Trust me, whoever you disagree with will get over it!!

My father is the worst 'If I were you.....' then if I don't take his advice its 'I don't undertsand you...'

my sister is very much like that. She takes it very personally if I don't do what she thinks is the right thing to do. She's super sensitive.

no matter what, you will never please everyone. when they offer advice, say 'i will keep that in mind.' and then do exactly what you were going to do anyway. people just want to be validated and if you let them feel like they are helping, that should appease them.

my mom she keeps beckoning me about losing weight. but i keep telling her its my thyroid and I am trying my best to lose weight. I know she loves me and wants the best for me but she makes me feel so bad.

I mean my thyroid is so messed up maybe if i get on the meds I will lose weight. it just makes me sad that she does this to me.

My dad is totally like this. Growing up he made all the decisions for us & now that we are adults & on our own, he will 'offer his suggestions' but will remind us again & again how/why we should do as he asked. We were never allowed to make our own mistakes growing up.

So I totally feel for you....hang in there.
