engagement party centerpieces and favors?

we are trying to think of creative centerpeices that do not involve flowers. does anyone have any ideas or pictures that they can fill us in on. (maybe something with candles).

we also need help with creative, yet not so expensive favor ideas.

our engagement party is in may. we love the idea of floating candles, but we want a creative and colorful idea.
