first time dog owners - how did you find your vet?

So, Craig and I are starting to get ready for the arrival of our Rottie pup in October, and the next item on our list is finding a good vet. We live in East Meadow, and there's an animal hospital literally right down the road from us, but I'd love to know if anyone has good recommendations for a vet around this area? We just want to do our homework first before picking one Thanks in advance!!

Dr. Fish is awesome... I also used to go to Dr. Casey in the Bethpage Animal Hospital, but it is hard to get an appointment with him sometimes, especially if it somewhat of an emergency.

I went by word of mouth and even though I'm not completely statisfied with them I just can't stand the office staff they suck at keeping appointments!! But at least Otis has his last of his shots tomorrow night!!! Also they are pretty close to the house so if something did happen they are close by!!!

Re: first time dog owners - how did you find your vet?

Oh my gosh your dog is so CUTE!!! Pugs are my absolute most favorite dog ever, but DH needs a BIG dog, and I since I like Rotties too, we agreed on that instead - but Pugs will always be first in my heart Good luck with his shots tomorrow! Where is your vet, by the way?
