Fun Mother/Daughter Song

So, my parents are divorced, mom raised 3 kids essentially alone and on 1 income-yada, yada, yada-I will not have a father-daughter dance but want to have a mother-daughter dance. However-I want it to be upbeat and fun, not mushy and sad. I thought it would be cute to start out as a slow song and break into a fast song. Any ideas?

you know what song i love.....and was going to use as my wedding song? but now all i think about is my mom...is KIND AND GENEROUS by natalie merchant..i love that song..and my mom raised us 3 kids also..and she is my best friend..im sort of close to my dad..but she rocks!!! that song is so pretty and kind of fast..

I GOT IT!!!!!! i dont know how to post the link but ..its amazon.com..and type in the search kind and generous..and it will come up to the album'opheilia'(spelling) and just hit listen to samples(which is on the left hand side) and go to kind and generous!!! hope this helps!

FYI-I mentioned this to my mom and she thought it was awesome. We'll probably start off to some slow and then after 30-45 secs, break into this. Thanks for all the suggestions!

There is also that Carol King song-- If you lead, I will follow... It's actually the theme song from Gilmore Girls-- but, you can't beat a Carol King song..
