Grant for first time home buyers?!?

Someone posted a link to the NYC Department of Finance website regarding available grants to reduce the closing costs for first time home buyers in the 5 boroughs. I am having a hard time locating this info now - can anyone who knows what I'm talking about steer me in the right direction? Thanks!!

I posted one, but I don't think it is for NYC too--it was for the Community Development Corporation of Long Island. The website is www.cdcli.org. They may refer you to a city program though! Good luck!

Re: Grant for first time home buyers?!?

look into SONYMA too they have a website, i think its www.sonyma.com

another LIW gal and I both got the grant, we didnt have to pay any closing costs, and got a low interest rate..... but you did have to qualify as a first time buyer and a few other things....also the town of Huntington I know was also offering grants for their residents to help them purchase a home ......

In otherwords call your townhall as well they may offer a grant

Good Luck
