guest list question
How many people did you and your parents invite, versus how many FH and his family invited??So far, my side is inviting 85 and his side is inviting 165.
DOES SOMEONE ELSE THINK THIS IS A PROBLEM!?!
Also - how many people from your list actually came? I hear it's anywhere around 10-20%. My parents want to keep the wedding at 200 max. How many should we invite to ensure that number?

Re: guest list question
the 165 is because FH is inviting SIXTY PEOPLE FROM WORK. he works as a trader on wall street and is close with everyone the desk - my parents will NOT go for that!!yes - his side has offered to contribute to something......

Re: guest list question
My side has more family friend invites, because his family has not offered to help contibute or asked if they could have a quest list. There is more of his family on the list though, so if it keeps growing my parents are going to ask his if they can give a little something,if not itson us

Re: guest list question
Is really that close with everyone or can he cut down his list (maybe put some people on a B list). If his side is contributing, I don't see a problem with them inviting more than you...although they are inviting practically double and that may be too excessive. Discuss it w/ FH. Maybe you 2 can come to an agreement on the amount of people you would like to have and then work from there. FH's family can not contribute, so we are limiting the amount of invites to what FH and I see as appropriate.

that is out of control. my FH works on a desk (not as a trader) and invited no one. he invited people from his previous jobs, the friends he made over time. I started a new job and invited one person from work. This event is supposed to be about family and friends! We all have different definitions of friendship, but I seriously doubt that these 60 people are his bestest of friends...
We had a pretty even split down the middle as far as who we were inviting (I wanted it that way), who is coming is another story as many of f's relatives are overseas and can't make the trip.
