HappyLand Tribune - FINAL EDITION Dec2006
Dear Readers - I do hope you enjoy this final piece. The HappyLand Tribune - FINAL EDITION Published Dec2006
A dark lavender fall evening sky had melted into a golden hue across the valley of HappyLand. The melodious rippling sound of the ice blue lake, sparkled and scampered over the rocks as a joyous child at play, as it tumbled and rolled in to shores far off from Happyland. The hills looked as protective as mother’s warm arms around her child. Happyland was situated at the valley floor, and the hills protected it and gave the picture of hues of green grass and wild shrubs with many flowers, as the hills roses to the bluest of blue sky
The many streets of happy hand had changed so much since the last reports in 2004. January Avenue, February Lane, March Court, April Avenue, May Meadows Lane, June Walkway Street, July Ocean Avenue, August West, September Circle, October Lane, November Lane and December Parkway, were all so busy with their new brides (most had already celebrated their first anniversary) and their families. As I strolled up and down each one, the familiarly brought me to smiles and warmed my heart to see such joy at these marriages, that not so long ago, were worried about what colors were the BM dresses a light coral or pastel and the many stresses of wedding planning. That all seemed like a lifetime ago! Some brides were with child. The other brides are so VERY happy for the precious little ones to arrive. One of the first will be born on January Avenue. Was the pun intended on this? LOL. Mothers to be were busy with nurseries and the bluebirds seemed to sing in harmony with the mothers to be with the pending new arrivals.
The boards, (the local 05boards) had changed, as did the focus of theses married ladies had also changed. Many now frequented the nearby village, LIF, which is similar in nature, yet broader in scope. This was fine, as many brides had now moved on and had other things to discuss, such as, new home decorations, or when DH irritated our last nerve, (i.e. paper in the living room, dishes in the bathroom or clothes one inch from the hamper, just not IN it) or just every day chit chat. During many discussions, wives found similarities and. they laughed hearty, enjoying the friendships. The joy of sharing theses trivial things let the brides know that this is what they prepared for …..better or worse, and each loved their DH will all their heart… and more.
The neighboring village on the Hills of 06 was in full swing, winding down their wedding year. They had visited The 05Bar to seek advice, which the 05brides freely gave and wished all the wedding of their dreams, and always remained them not to sweat the small stuff, in the end, your wedding WILL be the one you envisions. Beyond the Hills of 06, was East Town 07 that was gearing up for THEIR year!
I sat by the stream and took in the transition of the 05 boards, and life, knowing that its natural, as natural as the setting sun, yet a part of all of us will always miss the last night posting and discussion on the 05boards, the cheering a poster to 1000 posts and the finesse these brides free gave to each other. A few brides passed by and waved, as they to knew things were ending. We are all health, happy and in love. Really, what more could we ask for? I smiled and waved in return, that is one trait that will never leave us, the friendships and bonds formed. As I got up to walk away from Happyland, I realized I would not be back, as The boards (the local bar) would closed for good, as reported earlier, we would no longer get to see this bustling town. The 05 brides will be alright, why? Because they always had each other and as they said 05er for Life and as always 05 Brides Rock!
