Has anyone ever 'winged it' with their hair on the big day?

I had my hairstyle all picked out and had my trial in December. Since then, my hair has gotten longer, just past the tops of my shoulders with layers, and I can now wear a ponytail.

I had my second dress fitting yesterday and was wearing a ponytail and it looked so much better than when I wore my hair down.

Has anyone been bold enough to 'wing it' on the big day and pick out a new style and go with it without a trial?

yes, totally. I decided I didnt like my first hair trial last minute. Every time I wanted to make an appointment I really couldnt, so I just decided to wing it. It looked great, not exactly what I had in mind, but my hair is so fine and thin its hard to do what I wanted.. Either way it looked great

I didn't like my trial (half up & down). The day of, I asked for it all to be put as a result (no prior trial) and LOVED it!!

I had two hair trials with a total of 12 different styles. I loved the stylist but I couldn't articulate what I wanted. The day of I just told him to do what he thought was best. Sure enough it came out exactly as I had always wanted (but couldn't articulate).

I did I never went for a hair trial, I had my hair done by the lady Ive used for years, She just did what she thought would look best, and it was just what I wanted

Re: Has anyone ever 'winged it' with their hair on the big day?

I didn't wing it on purpose. I had a hair trial and I paid for it and tipped. The day of my wedding the 'lady' that did my hair decided to do a completely different style. It was nice, although not what my trial was...and by the end of the night my hair was completely falling down... But I think I was the exception because I picked a really horrible person for my hair.
