for outside the church. What do you think? Do they work well or do they burn out to fast?? I thought this would be kind of cool and different. Some feedback please. Thanks

Re: has anyone used sparklers....

I was thinking of this as well and would love feedback. My ceremony is at my reception hall at 7:30 pm on 9/26. So, it will be dark and I thought this would look cool in pics. Great topic Kelly!!!

Re: has anyone used sparklers....

I'm getting July 4th, so I was thinking of this as well. My church is at 3pm, so at 4pm it will still be very light outside.

If I don't use them at the church, I think I will include them as part of the favor (like as wrapping on top of the box). Still debating on this though.

Re: has anyone used sparklers....

Kelly,
Definitely do a search on this topic...I was totally set on using sparklers for my July 4th wedding...until I did a search on the subject. Just some food for thought...if you want to use them at your reception, verify with them you can (lots of places will not let you). Something I did not know..sparklers in New York at illegal! Can you believe that??!! And lastly was a story I remember reading about a bride who used sparklers...well, one of her guest's HAIR caught on fire from the sparkler! Could you imagine? So, my suggestion, do a search and get some opinions on the subject!!
Happy planning!

Re: has anyone used sparklers....

My sister did this in June and I have to say it looked AMAZING! Nothing happened to anyone, no hair on faire, no skin on fire and no clothes on fire!

Re: has anyone used sparklers....

Hi-
I was the bride-to-be who wrote about sparklers, and the danger of them. I was all set to use them when we booked our December wedding. I bought them in quantity in PA when we went camping, and for kicks, we lit some around the campfire. Well, it's force of habit to shake sparklers once they're lit, and it turns out a piece of the sparkler came flying off. It almost burned my friend, but luckily she jumped out of the way quick enough, and it burned a huge hole in her chair!! That was almost her face, hair, chest, etc...That was the end of my sparkler idea. I just kept having visions of that happening at the wedding - burning a guest or catching on my veil, etc...

If you choose to do it, I'm just saying proceed with caution. I know how beautiful the idea of it is - I really wanted to do it - but the risk in my opinion was too high, with the experience I've had.

If you choose to do it, definitely check with your church first, and the legality of using them...

Re: has anyone used sparklers....

ok Marni...not sure if this is going to help. I have a word document of stuff that I copy and save whenever I come across a good idea...guess what? I have info saved about flower glitzz...here it is....

'The contact info for the centerpieces is 718-236-1301. They are called Flower Glitzz. I spoke to a guy named Willy. I've never seen these done, so I don't know what they look like. I've only seen pictures. The sparklers burn about 3' high and it lasts for about 45 sec. Hope this helps. Good luck.'

I will try to do a search...

Re: has anyone used sparklers....

For my July 4th wedding, I got boxes of sparklers,I think 6 to a box & we tied them on top of the favor box!! It was nice & easy, white box no wrapping, the box of sparklers tied with re & blue ribbon. Maybe you can see them somewhat on the table:

just want to add: I also tried them & found them dangerous... I had a beautiful blister on my ring finger from my trial a week before the wedding!!
