Yay! I'm so happy to see an April thread!

The only things I need to do:
- get the BM dresses
- find a florist
- get shoes for my dress
- get undergarments for my dress

That's really it. I'm not stressed or anything. Things have gone really smooth for us.

There are a number of April brides on here so there should have been more responses. We will just have to make it our own.

We have our:
Reception
Church
Band
Photographer
Videographer
BM dresses (vera wang says they will be in next week!)
I need to order my dress - will probably do that in July

Need:
Limos
Florist
Favors
Makeup and hair person
Eroxgrl is coming with me to the Metropolitan museum so that we can get some ideas for our place cards - (thinking of doing an art theme - but not sure yet)
Invitations

We are going to do STD's soon.

CherylBooch I will bring some pictures with me of some Alpha Phi dinner dances

Glad to hear things are going so smoothly for you! When did you get engaged and when did you book everything?

My ceremony is at St. Mary's in Roslyn and the reception is at the North Hempstead Country Club in Port Washington.

Hey lesley - I have heard great things about the North Hempstead Country Club - do you know anyone who has gotten married there - I have heard of weddings at mine but have yet to meet someone

Hi Christine!

Actually, the only couple I know that got married there is my PARENTS! That's why I'm going there -- my mom's idea, and she's very touched that we're doing it.

I went with her to look at it (she hadn't been there since 1965) and she was floored by how different it looked. When she got married, the reception was out on a patio -- now that room is enclosed with a wall of windows overlooking the 18th hole. Its very pretty.

It is in Garden City - right behind (across the street) from my church (Cathedral of the Incarnation) - if you know the church it is right behind it - of the golf courses right near adelphi

Leslie,
I got engaged in mid Dec... the pic on my profile pretty much tells my engagement story! It was the shock of my life!
Well FI and I are crazy, we wanted to beat the Christmas and New Years rush (all the people who get engaged on those holidays) so we started looking and booking the Sat. we came home from Florida. I had my church & hall the Sat after Christmas!! lol.
Then since we have many friends in the business, we called to tell them that we were engaged and that they are booked on 4/17 for our wedding! (they got a kick out of that.) I only had to find a few vendors on my own.
So the major planning was a breeze for me.
Oh and I ordered my dress and veil/ tiara last month.
