HOw soon to pick bridesmaids

I have been thinking about this for some time now. How long did you guys wait before asking people to be in your bridal party. I have already told my sis , but Im sure she already assumed. I also asked a really close friend because the topic of bridal party came up but I am not sure when to ask others to be in it. Any advice??

ummm your wedding is in 07 I would wait till later this year to tell them. If they are family I guess you can tell them now.

honestly i would wait till a year before the wedding- so you get to see how everyone is about you getting married- it is sad but sometimes there is some jealousy and it affects friendships

thats about when you want to figure out colors and dresses

I asked MOH right away and couldnt hold it in to ask the girls to BM's

FH has not asked anyone but his 2 brothers

WAIT!!!!
I asked my BM's right away and I regret that I did it.
I would wait until a year before your wedding.
Alot of things change while you're engaged... take your time.

I asked my BM's the night I got engaged, but I knew it wasn't going to be a long engagement, so I couldn't wait, but if you're not getting married until 07 I'd wait til it gets closer.

I wholehearedly agree with the last poster..WAIT! I asked right away cause of excitement..now my bridal party is bigger than i wanted it, and i wish i had asked my cousin to be my maid of honor along with my best friend....i still feel odd about the whole thing.

Definitely wait. Things may change for you over the 2 years...just my opinion!

See thats what I felt, I still have a lot of time. I didnt really want to ask anyone, but then htat conversation came up with the friend and I figured Id ask her anyways. FH has already asked his friends to be GM and I just think that its now worrying me, because I have to find more people to be bridesmaids. Oh well, still have plenty of time.:) THanks for the advice girls:)

Hey, I'm also getting married in 2007, i think you have time i told my best friend because i wanted her to be my maid of honor, and i was really EXCITED and couldn't hold it in, but i didn't tell anyone else.
