I saw my first delivery today!

For those of you that don't know I posted a few weeks back how I transfered to Labor & Delivery in my hospital (I'm a nurse). I started on Monday and today I got to see my very first delivery. It was a girl! It was so amazing to witness new life coming into this world and I was so excited like it was my own family members. I still can't believe I'm going to get the opportunity to do this for a living. I commend all you brave moms whether c-section or vaginal deliveries you guys deserve a standing ovation!

Yeah I'm sure it's probably the scariest part of pregnancy but it's also the best! Just think after all that hard work you get a beautiful baby that's all yours!

You said you were working at Winthrop..right? i am signing up for the tour of the hospital soon. I am due april 4th. I hope I see you!

I'll keep my eye out! When are you going for your tour? The delivery rooms are beautiful it's a great unit and everyone has been so nice so far! Good luck to you.

I just have to say that my labor and delievery nurse was an angel. She was soooooo wonderful and compationate. I will never forget her. She got me through a very emotional time. So thank you for your thoughtful words, but I must also commend you and all the other labor and delievery nurses. Your compassion really goes a long way!!!!!

A nurse can be the difference between a good experience and a bad experience. Unfortuntely I had a bad nurse (well 3 in fact) and it made my situation just plain old worse and quite frankly, tramatic.

I commend you for being one of the caring nurses...we need more of you with us during such a special time in our lives.

Also for anyone who is afraid of birth please try Hypnobirthing classes. I went from totally fear to 100% looking forward to labor/delivery. It can really help you transform how you look at the experience.

I was in the delivery room when my nephew/godson was born
It was the most amazing miracle I have ever witnessed
I can not describe how wonderful and emotional it was
I was honored to be ithere when my little James aka Mamesy Pooh was brought into this world

Wow, you have a truly rewarding and beautiful job! I wish you lots of fulfilling years doing doing this!

And that delivery room is absolutely beautiful!!! I wish I was delivering in one like that!

That's wonderful! I delivered in Winthrop 4 months ago and it was a wonderful experience... I actually can't stop talking about it, I loved it there and all the people there as well! Enjoy your job, it's got to be wonderful. Thanks for doing what you do.
