I want to go away for Thanksgiving and I want to go to Disney for the first time What is your favorite resort?

I'm looking for moderately priced. Grand Floridian came highly recommended but are totally booked. Need ideas want to book today.

I'll be at Disney for Thanksgiving! We are staying at a timeshare though, 10 mins from Disney.

We loved the wilderness lodge, also have heard great things about the caribbean beach resort!

I second the Wilderness Lodge. We stayed there for our honeymoon and it was wonderful!!!

Beware: Disney is soooooooooooooooooooo crowded Thanksgiving weekend!!

These people have a lot of info on Disney.

I always stay at the All Stars...they are the cheapest but we are never in our room.

I would definitely suggest the Carribean Beach or Coronado Springs.

It really depends on how much money you want to spend : ).

For deluxes I love love love the Polynesian Resort. Wilderness Lodge coming in a close second. The Boardwalk is also good because your near a few bars if want to do that at night.

For moderates my favorite is Port Orleans Riverside and the Caribbean Beach is also nice.

You'll have a great time whereever you decide to stay!!!!

I stayed at Coronado Springs about 5 years ago, and it was really nice

I really liked Coronado Springs, Caribbean BEach and Dixie Landings. The Polynesian is awesome too, and my brother loves the Wilderness Lodge. But definitly check Mousesavers they have some good codes.

Carribean Beach Resort is beautiful and recently renovated and moderately priced--as well as Port Orleans Resort.

FM RobLuvsMe-she knows EVERYTHING about Disney and gave me a lot of helpful hints!

If you want to stay off property, I suggest the Wyndham Palace, which is right across from Downtown Disney. It is really nice and provides many of the perks you get staying on property, like shopping bags sent to hotel so you don't have to carry it around all day. They have deals for park tickets, etc.

I have no advise for Disney but we are traveling over Thanksgiving and I can tell you book as soon as possible.

The price went up so much from when we first looked.

I stayed at the Polynesian as a teenager and it was really nice from what I remember - it was pretty new then...

My DH and I LOVE the Beach and Yacht Club.

Why you ask? Well, first of all great location. Walking distance to Epcot, Boat to MGM, walking distance to the Boardwalk and all the great restaurants and bars. Second, beautiful rooms. And my DH's favorite reason - the BEST pool and slides. The bottom of the HUGE pool is sand so you get this really cool beach feel.

I love the polenisian resort. I was there in July 2002 and stayed at the Cheap Movie all star resort and it was great. Would recommened it. We save a ton of money and the Hotel was decent. We were always at the park. We only used it to sleep!

We will be at Disney the week of Thanksgiving too!!! We are staying at Port Orleans-Dixie Landings. I can't wait!! The prices there are pretty reasonable. You might also want to try Caribbean Beach.

My favorite is the Polynesian, but since we are taking my kids and my granddaughter and we need two rooms it was too expensive to stay there.

I would recommend the Animal Kingdom Lodge - it is the least expensive of the deluxe resorts and I think the least run down (except for Grand floridian which will run you MUCH more - about 2000$ a week more)

It is a great hotel - I would recommend a savannah view - there are specials all the time - check out...

For my moderate choices in this order would be:
Coranado (can have conventions there though)
Caribbean beach
Riverview
Dixie landings

I don't know too much about the swan and dolphin - some people love it - it is a little gaudy for my taste.

The Poly and the Contemp are great hotels - (I have stayed at almost all the deluxes and moderates over the years and have at least visited all the others) but although I still like them both and would stay there - they are a little dated.

I recommend the AKL b/c it is really a unique experience to sit on your balcony at all hours of the day and night and see various animals. I also like the fact that I have never really seen a similar hotel anywhere in my travels (w/out going to africa) whereas the other hotels although nice I feel I could stay in them anywhere which makes it feel a little less unique.

Our personal favorites are the Boardwalk because it is walking distance to Epcot, close to MGM and there are lots of places on the boardwalk and 2 of our favorite dining places are at the Beach/Yacht club on the other side of the lake.

The other is French Quarter - Riverside. They are closer to downtown disney. Have a great pool area and we love Bob Jackson that performs in their lobby lounge.
