Ivory dresses, what color is FH's vest and shirt?

My guy is wearing an Italian navy suit, which I totally love him in.

But we decided not to go with vest, just shirt and tie.

After all the ivory dress discussion .. I started thinking .. My dress is ivory, and I'm really confused as to whether we should do his shirt in ivory too?

Thoughts?

My DH wore a tan suit with a blue shirt... you could have him wear a light blue or I would go with ivory.

I was told if your dress is ivory, FH must wear an ivory shirt, definitely not white.

My gown is a Maggie in Ivory. The manager at the tux place said he ususally rec. a white shirt and ivory tie and vest combo - for some contrast. Fh is wearing a black tux and both of us preferred the IVORY shirt under his vest and tie, not the white. I just think its personal preference. I did take a swatch of my gown along to try and match things up the best we could. I would try and do that if possible!!!!

my gown was ivory and dh wore a white shirt with his black tux. it looked great, no issue with the gown at all. but my gown was a very light ivory so i guess the darker the ivory the worse the contrast. I can't even tell in pics that there's a difference in the two.

My gown is decieving, its ivory on the hanger but when I wear it its chiffon so it catches so much light it just glows white.

I don't think swatches would be accurate.

DH wore an Ivory tie and vest.

I am wearing an ivory dress - the man at the tuxedo rental place said that my FH and the GM should wear ivory shirts to compliment my dress. It seems that ivory tends to look dingy next to white.

My dress was ivory but DH & the GMs wore white shirts. No one noticed the difference. Sometimes the ivory shirts look too yellow, which was a look I didn't like. Sometimes there's a color in between, candle light I think it's called, it's between white and ivory.

if your dressis ivory the guys in bp including FH should wear ivory too...white next to ivory looks dingy!

FH is wearing a brown tux with ivory vest, shirt, tie. The tux place told us it will look better in pictures.

I was in a natural silk (so kind of ivory) and dh got an ivory shirt, tie, and vest. We had the GM in white shirts though (they had on black tuxes, gray vests and ties) and that was perfect.

No it doesn't.

They can wear whatever you want. Go to see the shirts in person, don't go by what people say on here. The only ivory shirts I saw were dingy looking, they looked yellowish to me, and my dress was ivory.

My Dh wore a white shirt w/ivory vest and tie. It looked great and no my ivory dress did not look dingy next to it.

Def. go to a store though and check it out for yourself, don't even go by what the salesman says, go by what YOU think of the shirts.

I agree with this...

My dress was ivory, but I personally thought the ivory shirt vest and tie were all more yellow than my dress, so I went with WHITE for him.... despite the fact that that salesgirl told me I would look 'dirty' next to him... I don't think my dress looked dirty next to him at all.. can't even tell the difference..

My dress is pearl ivory and my train is a pale yellowy gold. My FH is wearing a white shirt and gold vest...
