JC Penney registry - warning!

I am sooo mad at JC Penney.....

I spoke with a potential business partner today andthey mentioned that they googled me to get background information. fine whatever. but then i just went to google myself to see what is out there..and what is the NUMBER TWO thing that came up on google....my registry at JC PENNEY!!!...it was write after linked in!!

And the worst part.....i NEVER SIGNED UP !!!!!!

Well, I gave JCP my name at a bridal expo booth....but how was i supposed to know they would enter it online and that it would be SEARCHABLE by google!!

Seriously ladies (and gents)...be warned!!!!!!

I dont even know how to take the doggone thing down...but i did change the 'name' and wedding date. this is really ridiculous!!!! its no ones business where, when, and who im marrying. especially for ppl that dont even know me and want to google my business!! totally ridiculous!!

I know, my FSIL looked my name up on their website and I had a registry up with items on it. I signed up with them at a bridal expo but I never added anything to it. I never even logged onto the registry.

OMG... I signed up for a JC Penney registry before I was engaged because I heard if you sign up you get a free wedding planner and I wanted it lol. So I googled myself once and my JC Penney registry came up like one of the first things about me, just as you said!!! Meanwhile, I wasn't even engaged. I was sooooo embarassed that people would see this if they googled me. I have no idea why it comes up when you are googled... sooooo wrong!

OMG this happend to me!! I did the same thing and they still have my name on it saying i wanted $400 gift cards which btw I never been inside a JC Penney ever!

So I registered and change it to all fake info but my name is still on that damn site!

silly question: did u guys try calling their web support or customer service asking them to remove it? what did they say?

I put down all fake informations and change my name it takes a couple of days to get of the site, but it does get taken down!

oh no!!! I gotta go google myself.... I have seen other peoples amazon registries online, so I would be careful if you have one of those as well

i'm just curious. considering i just googled my own name and facebook was the first to come up, a ton of websites after came up. as much as i thought my name was more on the original side, there are so many websites out there with my name and it's not even me.

i think some of you are being a little too paranoid. your info is going to come up no matter what. and most likely in whatever you signed or checked off to agree to terms and conditions, it was in there. we just never read it.
