Re: Late Night Wedding
My ceremony is at 6:30. Cocktail Hour starts at 7. Reception ends at 12.I think late weddings are fine. Usually the older people don't tend to stay late anyways. That leaves more dance floor space for the young people to party. I am sure everything will be fine!

I am so glad to hear that there are some late weddings!Majority of my family is older but my FH has 60 friends. I hope that the party will still be alive.

I think a late wedding is fine. Mine is from 6.30 to 12.30 and I do expect people to leave earlier, but that's ok since I know most of my family and close friends will stay to the very end.Karen

Re: Late Night Wedding
Mine isn't starting until 7:30 and will end about 1:30. It's hard having a Sat. night wedding in the spring if you are jewish. Sundown isn't until 8pm so you are not supposed to start the ceremony until I think 60 minutes after that. We have a reformed rabbi so he will marry us before sundown luckily...or we would be partying until 3 in the morning and I am not sure how the older folk will hold up.

Re: Late Night Wedding
Our reception will end at 12. I feel the same way Karen feels, some may leave early, but the my closest friends and family won't.

Re: Late Night Wedding
just keep in mind, as guests start leaving your time becomes occupied with goodbyes. If they're leaving earlier, be prepared to lose some dancing time while you say your goodbyes. We were at our reception an hour after it ended saying goodbye to everyone - but I'm glad that wasn't an hour of dancing time lost. Our reception ended at midnight on a Saturday. Most people stayed until the end, but some pulled us aside earlier to say goodbye / give the card, etc.

Re: Late Night Wedding
IT SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT TIME. AS LONG AS YOU HAVE FRIENDS THEY WILL PARTY THE NIGHT AWAY.

Re: Late Night Wedding
Our ceremony is at 6:30, cocktail hour from 7-8 and reception from 8-12. And its a SUNDAY night!!We know some people are going to leave early. We sent Save the Dates out eight months before the wedding to give everyone plenty of notice that it's a Sunday. So our guests have had lots of time to make arrangements regarding work, etc. if they want to stay late.
Sunday night is what we could afford, and what we could guarantee in terms of head count (lower minimum on Sunday). So that's what we went with.
