My MOM does that ALL THE TIME when she calls family or friends....she goes through the list of people in the household until she gets the person's name! It drives me NUTS! Just say your name, mom! Why you gotta waste people's time guessing????

Better yet: you say either 'you have the wrong number' or 'there's no one here by that name' and they ask 'are you sure?' Like I'm going to say, 'Oh, wait! I forgot that Mr. X lives here. I can't believe I overlooked him sleeping on the couch.' W-T-F??

If I was looking for a business and got a residence, sometimes I will ask if they know the number of the business. If I was one number off, chances are high that I am not the first person to misdial and the homeowner usually knows the correct number to offer people.

This is very true - in fact it happens to my parents all the time - there number is slightly off from a car mechanic - so they always tell them what the number is.

when I lived home, our # was one digit off of the gas station! We would get calls 'Is my car ready yet?' LOL....Mom was having one of those days and told someone.,..'Yep, it is, come on in when you can!'

If the person wouldve listened my mom didnt say 'Hi (so and so's garage)..she just said 'Hello?'....

When we first got our phone # I got so many calls from the same guy. He spoke extremely broken English and unfortunately my Spanish is not so good. He called at least twice a day 3 times a week for the first month that we lived here.I hope he found Rosa, but I kinda miss him!!!
