Need a one bedroom Apt that accepts a small dog.. in a bad situation..

Hey everyone I am under a little stress :( today.. I found out my landlord has been showing our apt. illegally to people without our consent.. He lost the house and is going ahead and selling it.. I am pretty pissed off and angry right now (and told him off earlier today becuase all he has done is lie to us he said he was going to sell it in 3 years)) .. considering we just moved in 5 months .. anyway a long story short.. We don't want to live here anymore considering we have asked him twice to please show people our part of the house when we are home. The turning point of this situation is when I found my dog yesterday freaking out from aniexty and his paws where bleeding from trying to dig out of the cage.. from all of the 'strangers ' walking through the house..
If anyone could help us we would appreciate it.. We are looking mainly on the southshore.. I work in Bay Shore and my fiance works in the city.. I would like to stay in Nassau county.. We are located in amity harbor right now.. I appreciate anyones help in this manner. 2 bedroom would be ideal.. but a one bedroom would work for us also..

that really *****! I live in Ronkonkoma in a heatherwood community. It is VERY well kept, i really love it here. A friend of mine moved into another one and he likes it there too. Plus you it eliminates the flaky land lord!!! they do allow dogs but it will be a bit extra a month. anyway here is thier website http://www.heatherwoodcommunities.com
Good luck

Don't just check craigslist - post that you're looking! We found our apartment by posting that we were looking. Post EXACTLY what you want and include that you have a dog / what area / price range. I'm sure you'll get a lot of responses!

GOOD LUCK!

Re: Need a one bedroom Apt that accepts a small dog.. in a bad situation..

I know it could get a bit expensive, but after 6 months of dead ends, FH and I went through a broker. We LOVE our apartment. If all else fails, it's totally the way to go.

I wish I could be more helpful. Good luck with your search and keep us posted!

Have you approached the broker? Maybe due to the situation and b/c it's only been 5 months they would just help you find a place, or maybe not charge you the full fee? Sorry to hear this is happening to you! If I hear of anyplace I'll let you know.

yup!! DH and i did this...we made an ad stating our ages, that we were both full time employed, getting married soon, and had a cat....basically letting ppl know that we weren't some young party couple and that we were responsible.....and just wanted a 'starter' apartment....gave our max rent and the areas we were looking at....and our landlord found us! he emailed me and bam! we had a place!

so sorry to hear you are going thru this....hope you find something.
